Service Description

What is Yin Yoga? Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative style of yoga that targets the deep connective tissues of the body—like ligaments, fascia, and joints—rather than the muscles. Unlike more dynamic practices like Vinyasa or Hatha, Yin postures are held for longer periods of time, typically between 3 to 5 minutes or even longer. The practice is often done in a seated or reclined position, allowing the body to gradually release into each shape. Yin draws from both traditional yoga and the principles of Chinese medicine, working with the body’s meridian lines to support energy flow. Key Benefits of Yin Yoga 🧘 Deepens Flexibility Holding postures for extended periods encourages the lengthening and hydration of connective tissue, which can improve mobility and joint health over time. 🧠 Calms the Nervous System Yin Yoga is deeply soothing, encouraging a parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) response in the body, which helps reduce stress and anxiety. 🫁 Encourages Stillness and Mindfulness The quiet, meditative nature of the practice cultivates present-moment awareness, making it a powerful complement to more active yoga styles and daily life. 💫 Releases Emotional Tension Since connective tissue stores emotional energy, Yin can help release deep-seated emotions and encourage emotional healing. 🌙 Balances Energetic Flow By working with the body’s meridian channels (similar to acupuncture theory), Yin Yoga can help balance energy (Qi or Prana), supporting overall well-being. 🩺 Supports Joint and Bone Health Gentle, sustained stress on joints and bones can stimulate regeneration, making it a valuable practice for maintaining longevity and structural integrity.

Cancellation Policy

For a Yoga or Pilates class please give a minimum of 4hrs notice if you need to cancel to avoid being charged. ***If you have booked an Event we need a minimum of 48 hours cancellation so we can try and fill the spot and give you a refund. Refund will be less a $5 booking and administration fee.***
