Meet The Team
Samana Yoga Studio Founder & Owner, Senior Teacher & Sound Healer & Reiki Practioner
My personal practice began 25 years ago & over time I have grown to love the philosophy & spiritual side of the practice more.
The lineage of Yoga I am taught in is the
T. Krishnamacharya lineage through his son TKV Desikachar.
I love the emphasis on breath & the connection between breath and body. You will always find me guiding you to this connection in all of my classes.
Your yoga practice should support you, physically and mentally and I truly believe there is a suitable practice for Every Body.
I have completed over 1000 hours of training in Vinyasa, Yin, QiGong, Restorative, Mat & Reformer Pilates.
I am also a registered Meditation Teacher , Sound Healer & Shamballa Reiki Practitioner.
I love witnessing the transformation of my students, both physically & spiritually.

In studio I welcome you warmly & thoughtfully guide you through your practice with a focus on the union of breath & movement. As a heart led practitioner I value connection with others, the variability of each body & lovingly hold space.

Mat & Reformer Pilates & Yoga Teacher
“I love teaching Yoga, Pilates and reformer. Dancing from a young age has made me see the value of movement as well as the benefits it has for both our bodies and mind. I love teaching and watching people grow and get stronger and am passionate about making the practice enjoyable for everyone.”
Hi, my name is Ali. I'm a mum of two young adults now and grew up in Point Lonsdale. Like Kirsteen, I have also been taught to teach yoga in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya and his son T.K.V. Desikachar. When you come to my yoga classes I hope you feel welcome & comfortable. I instruct moving into and out of poses in connection with the breath and encourage students to keep their awareness within, allowing the body to be at ease, breath to become smooth & long and the mind to eventually come to a state where it is able to be calm & stay in the present moment. I appreciate that every student comes to class with a different starting point & different strengths, challenges & experience in regard to a yoga practice whether it be in the body, the mind or breath. I am Registered Nurse and I really love the way that Yoga provides a holistic perspective of health acknowledging the interconnection of the layers of the human system- mind, body, breath & spirit & nor are we considered to be separate to the nature that surrounds us.
Hi , I'm Jodie & I have been practicing yoga for 14 years.
I love to teach a power flow combining Pilates strength and a moving meditative vinyasa flow.
I also enjoy teaching an inward focused mindful practice in my Yin classes.
Join me on the mat where together we will explore the deeper connection with the self through flow, breath work, balance & mindfulness.
Hi, I'm Marie,
I first experienced meditation as a young child with my mum and then discovered yoga in my early twenties.
Through yoga, I found a way to connect the body and mind within the same practice. My fascination for exploring the inner self has continued to grow ever since.
Trained in India in the ancestral Hatha tradition, my teaching incorporates a dynamic Vinyasa twist as well as peaceful Yin postures. My down-to-earth approach and the philosophical insights I weave through my classes ensures my classes will keep resonating within you long after you step off the mat. Mindfulness and meditation are the key elements I will use to guide you through your own self-discovery.
Hey everyone, I’m Tracey.
I’ve been a part of the yoga community for over 10 years now and along with fellow teachers, trained in the lineage of T. Krishnamacharya through his son TKV Desikachar. I found yoga whilst I was journeying through a profoundly difficult medical condition, and owe its grounding nature and philosophy to my healing. The connection between body, breath and mind is profound and I felt the need to share this knowledge with others! A secret set of tools that everyone can access to help relieve.
But it’s not just the work on the mat that I love about yoga. I love the chat/debrief of people’s days as they enter the room. The opportunities for sharing our stories and the softness that people leave with on their faces and within their bodies. Taking that softness and mindset into their lives.
Depending on the time of day you attend my class, I will take you through slower vinyasa moving style
postures, connected to your breath. Progressively through the class we will hold a little longer and deeper taking on a more Hatha approach. I’m very mindful on making sure everyone is working at their capacity, so I offer numerous modifications or variations to suit. So, my class can be as strong or a little less as you like or are feeling on the day! I am very thorough in my instructions, encouraging and explaining along the way!
A little about me, so you may feel like you have a connection upon entering my class. I have a substantial background in physiology, starting with Bachelor degrees and then went on to teach tertiary level sciences. Nowadays, I am a full time classroom teacher by day, teaching students First Nations cultural ways through Science and Technology. An exciting journey! I am always outdoors doing something! I love running, particularly with my beautiful kelpie dog, Mr Blue! I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, swimming in the ocean, paddling kayaks, reading books, holidaying in beautiful quiet places and simply hanging with my family whom I must say are growing up way too quickly for my liking!
I look forward to perhaps meeting you one day too!
