The nine frequencies

Each frequency below is paired with a symbolic intention commonly associated with contemporary Solfeggio practice. Use these themes as a gentle focus for meditation, reflection or setting an intention.

174 Hz — Grounding & Security - An invitation to pause, settle into the present moment and cultivate a sense of support.

285 Hz — Renewal & Vitality - A focus for fresh beginnings, renewed intention and reconnecting with yourself.

396 Hz — Release & Self-Compassion - Create space to reflect on fear or guilt, meeting whatever arises with gentleness.

417 Hz — Change & Possibility - An invitation to explore old patterns, welcome new perspectives and embrace change.

528 Hz — Love & Transformation - Often called the “Love Frequency” in contemporary sound practices, this tone offers a focus for compassion, openness and personal growth.

639 Hz — Connection & Relationships - Bring awareness to connection, understanding and the ways you relate to yourself and others.

741 Hz — Expression & Clarity - A focus for quiet reflection, authentic expression and listening to your own voice.

852 Hz — Intuition & Inner Awareness - Turn your attention inward and make room for contemplation and stillness.

963 Hz — Unity & Spiritual Connection - Explore a sense of connection to the wider world and whatever holds meaning for you.

A little history

The word solfeggio comes from the Italian tradition of teaching singing through note syllables—the familiar do, re, mi. Its historical roots are associated with the 11th-century music teacher Guido of Arezzo, whose teaching system helped singers learn musical relationships.

The specific frequencies in this collection have a more recent origin. The modern Solfeggio frequency system is generally credited to Joseph Puleo, who interpreted numerical patterns in the Bible’s Book of Numbers and assigned six resulting numbers to frequencies: 396, 417, 528, 639, 741 and 852 Hz. His interpretation was popularised in the 1999 book Healing Codes for the Biological Apocalypse by Leonard Horowitz and Joseph Puleo.

Three additional frequencies—174, 285 and 963 Hz—were incorporated later, forming the nine-frequency collection widely used in contemporary sound practices today. Although often described as an ancient healing scale, these exact frequencies are not established as the original pitches of medieval chant.

Make space for your own experience

Explore one fork at a time, choose an intention that resonates with you, or pair your set with our Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls to bring different textures of sound and vibration into your practice.

There is no particular feeling to achieve. Simply pause, notice and allow space for your own experience.

The frequency associations above are symbolic and spiritual interpretations, rather than scientifically established therapeutic effects. These instruments are intended for meditation and wellbeing, not to diagnose or treat medical conditions. However, Studies have shown that sound has a direct impact on the mental processes, muscles, nervous system, heartbeat, pulse, digestive system and circulatory system. There is still a long way to go in terms of research but it is gaining more traction everyday. Be one of the first to experience the healing power or frequency and vibration.
